David Hughes is an Australian musician and actor born on July 16, 1955. He began his music career playing in bands in his hometown of Brisbane before moving to Sydney in the 1970s to pursue a solo career. Hughes released his first album, The David Hughes Album, in 1976, and his most recent album, Pure Gold, in 2019.
In addition to his music career, Hughes has also acted in several films and television shows, including The Saddle Club and Blue Heelers. He has also appeared on stage in musicals such as The Rocky Horror Show and Guys and Dolls.
Hughes is known for his country and western music style and has been awarded several awards and accolades for his work, including the Australian Country Music Association's Best New Talent award in 1984 and a Golden Guitar award in 1985.
